Newborn Safe Haven

You have hidden your pregnancy. Now you have a baby you can't hide.

Please, don't panic.

There is a new law that provides a private Safe Haven for Newborns, when their parent(s) do not know what to do. You do not have to abandon your baby in an unsafe place, like many of the sad stories we have all seen in the news. There is a safe, legal place where you can take your baby.

The Safe Haven for Newborns law allows the birth parent(s) to give up custody of their newborn child without facing any legal consequences. A baby, unharmed and less that three (3) days old, may be turned over to:
  • hospital staff
  • emergency medical service workers
  • law enforcement agencies
Each of these resources can take your baby from you, no questions asked. The purpose of this law is to save infants from injury or death, by providing a safe, confidential alternative to a difficult situation. We understand you may not be able to care for your baby, but we also know you love, and want the best for your newborn.

If you find yourself in this situation, please take your baby to any of the above places and let them take care of your baby.

If you are still not sure what to do, please call us at 419-352-7566 , 888-282-1118 or click on Contact Us for other ways to reach us. We are waiting to help you.
