Important Notice: The statewide eligibility systems at the Job and Family Service agencies will be unavailable on August 23rd, 24th and 27th for system updates. Our agency in Wood County will be open, but we will be very limited in our ability to research information and will be unable to issue any public assistance benefits. We will still accept applications and will process them as soon as possible, but there could be a delay during this time. Please plan accordingly when making plans to call for interviews, or to request services and information from our agency. Thank you.

How to Report Child Abuse/Neglect

Children’s Services can be contacted by calling the child abuse hotline at 419-354-9669 or 1-866-860-4136.

A report may be made in person by coming to the agency located at 1928 E. Gypsy Lane Rd. Bowling Green, Ohio or by calling the hotline number. Do not email reports of abuse or neglect.

The agency is open 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

After hours and weekends, emergency child abuse/neglect reports may be made by contacting the CHILD ABUSE HOTLINE (419-354-9669) or by calling the Wood County Sheriff’s Office at 419-354-9001 and asking that the on-call Children’s Services worker be contacted.  Children’s Protective Services staff are available 24 hours a day/7 days a week to deal with emergencies.

When making a Children’s Services report, you will be asked to provide as much information as possible about the family and their situation including the names of family members, address, phone number and any other identifying information.

The reporter’s name is always kept confidential.  The only time a reporter’s information is released is if a Judge orders that the name be released for court proceedings.
