Public Assistance

The Income Maintenance division administers State and Federal Public Assistance Programs locally in Wood County.  These programs, commonly known as Ohio Works First, Food Assistance, and Ohio Medicaid, provide cash, food assistance, and health care coverage based on State and Federal eligibility criteria.

Applications for public assistance are taken daily during our regular office hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Applications are also accepted via fax, mail, and online submission at benefits.ohio.gov.

After your application is submitted, please contact the Call Center for changes and updates.
CALL CENTER HOURS: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday- 8:00 am-4:00 pm, Thursday- 8:00 am-12:00 pm, Friday- 8:00 am-3:00 pm

The Wood County Call Center for Public Assistance will be closed for system updates on the 2nd Thursday and the last Tuesday of every month.
